  • Starting on the right note

    This clinic will allow you to acquire the fundamentals of mountain biking: shifting, braking and positioning. In a safe and pressure-free environment, you will be introduced to the world of mountain biking.

    Lesson format : You will love group lessons! The experience and energy of the group will allow you to practice all the technical concepts, at your own pace.

    Coach : Your coach will have a pmbia.org level I certification or higher and 20-hour first aid training in remote areas.

    Terrain : We will start in a wide, grassy field, then progress to wide trails as well as some mellow singletrack trails.

    Beginner

    • You can ride beginner (green) trails
    • You wish to progress to intermediate (blue) trails
    • You have already done a few mountain bike rides
    • You have some apprehensions or have had bad experiences
    • You would like to feel in control, safe, and independent
    • You have never taken a lesson before, or you need a refresher clinic

    A solid technical foundation

    This clinic will allow you to acquire the essential basics of bike handling: positioning and mobility, as well as the integration of braking and shifting. This course will guide you towards more autonomy in your practice: climbs, descents, and corners will no longer hold any secrets for you!

    Lesson format: You will love the group lessons! The experience and energy of the group will allow you to practice all the technical concepts taught at your own pace.

    Coach: Your coach will be PMBIA.org level I certified or higher, and have 20-hour first aid training in remote areas.

    Terrain: Green and blue rated cross-country trails, such as La Raph in SDM, Cassonade and Phozz in Mont Oak, Easy Rider at Le Massif

    Intermediate

    • You can comfortably ride intermediate (blue) trails
    • You can also ride some advanced (black) trails
    • You wish to progress towards intermediate jumps and drops, or progress towards harder advanced (black) trails
    • You have already taken a course on the fundamentals of mountain biking
    • You have been practicing mountain biking for one or two seasons and ride regularly
    • You feel that your progression is stagnating and that you are not always in control

    Progress from beginner to intermediate

    This clinic will allow you to continue your progression towards mastering more technical trails. We place a great emphasis here on stability through a strong position and amplitude of movement to acquire smoothness and flow. What could be more enjoyable than starting a turn with stability and coming out of it with speed? Or progressing towards black diamond trails.

    Lesson format: Intermediate-level clinic in small groups. We focus on mileage and guided practice. No more big theoretical lectures, let’s ride!

    Coach: Your coach will be PMBIA.org level I or II certified and have 20-hour or 40-hour first aid training in remote areas.

    Terrain: Aphrodisiac in Mont Oak, Hummus in Bromont, the Super G at Sentiers du Moulin, la Basilic at Le Massif.

    Intermediate to advanced
    course descriptions

    Intermediate - Cornering

  • You can comfortably ride intermediate (blue) trails
  • You can also ride some advanced (black) trails
  • You wish to progress towards intermediate jumps and drops, or progress towards harder advanced (black) trails
  • You have already taken the intermediate riding course, OR you have solid fundamentals in position, mobility and braking
  • You feel that your progression is stagnating and that you feel yourself slowing down in corners

    Master berms and corners

    Cornering, an elusive skills for many cyclists, will no longer be a secret! You want to hone your skills to control flat and banked turns? This is for you! We will help you consolidate the fundamentals of positioning and mobility, gradually adding angulation and rotation. This will allow you to maintain your trajectory in a trail and have the opportunity to make a quick directional changes, with smoothness and flow! What could be more enjoyable than entering a turn with stability and exiting with speed!

    Lesson Format : Intermediate to advanced level clinic in small groups. After breaking down the essentials of a isolated corner in detail, we focus on millage and guided practice.

    Coach:  Your coach will be certified level I or II pmbia.org and first aid 20h or 40h in remote areas.

    Terrain: Cassonade and Yak Attack at Mont Oak, Farfadet in Bromont, Super G and Slab City at Sentiers du Moulin, Basilic at Le Massif

    Intermediate - Air

  • You can comfortably ride intermediate (blue) trails and roll intermediate (blue) 2-3 feet roll-downs
  • You can also ride some advanced (black) trails
  • You wish to master intermediate (blue) jumps and drops, or progress towards harder advanced (black) trails
  • You have already taken the intermediate riding course, OR you have solid fundamentals in position, mobility and braking
  • You feel that your progression is stagnating and you wish to learn how to jump safely and in control

    Learning to fly

    Description :  Jumps and drops are without a doubt the most enjoyable techniques to master. Whether it’s a natural obstacle on a trail or a jump or drop on a flow trail, the technique is the same. This allows for a more playful and dynamic style to express yourself on the trail. You will have the opportunity to break down the maneuvers leading to a bunnyhop. You will then be able to apply these maneuvers in jumps and drops. After successfully rolling modules, you will gradually be able to take air. This is where the fun starts !

    Lesson format : In this intermediate/advanced clinic, we will learn and practice (when possible) in a bike park. We learn passive and active pressure in a safe environment and then learn the basics of a jump and a break. As you progress, more advanced obstacles will follow.

    Coach:  Your coach will be certified level II pmbia.org air or trail module and first aid 20h or 40h in remote area.

    Terrain air: The progressive bike parks at Mont Oak and Ski Bromont, the Sauce piquante and Gold City in Sentiers du Moulin

    Advanced - Enduro

  • You can comfortably ride advanced (black) trails and roll / jump intermediate (blue) 3+ feet roll-downs and drops
  • You can also ride a few very advanced (double black) trails
  • You wish to progress towards advanced technical (black) jumps and drops, or progress towards harder very advanced (double black) trails and slabs
  • You have already taken the intermediate riding course / intermediate cornering / air, OR you have solid fundamentals in position, mobility, can control your speed in challenging trails and ride steep terrain
  • You feel that your progression is stagnating and you wish to learn how to ride advanced / scarier terrain in safety and control.

    Steeps and slabs

    This clinic will allow you to fine tune your riding on demanding and technical trails. Steep trails and corners? We will dissect trail features in order to work on skill development and apply the golden rule : Pre-ride, ride, freeride! Consolidation and application of refined riding skills. We will overview the complete skill pyramid, then work in depth on a specific skill. What is your challenge? We will help you achieve it!

    Lesson format : Small group clinics. Coaching ratios are optimised in order to give you a personalized service. Group clinics are an excellent way to learn from your peers and benefit from the rider’s energies! We do everything possible to help you progress to a higher level, in a safe environment.

    Coach : Your coach will be certified level II pmbia.org with air or trail module and first aid 20h or 40h in remote area.

    Terrain: 7-20-25 at Ski Bromont, Chaton and Litière at P7 Bromont, Maelstrom sector and LB’s at Sentiers du Moulin, Tordue in Mont Sainte-Anne

    Advanced - Air

  • You can comfortably ride advanced (black) trails and roll / jump advanced (black) 3 feet roll-downs and drops
  • You can also ride some very advanced (double black) trails
  • You have already taken the intermediate air riding course, OR you have solid fundamentals in riding technical terrain and in jumping 3 feet tabletops and drops
  • You feel confortable in black rated terrain and you can consistently jump 3 feet tables and drops.
  • You want to progress to bigger jumps, technical jumps and deeper drops. You want to add style and smoothness to your aerial skills, with safety and control.

    Jumps, drops, hips, whips and thrills

    This clinic will allow you to fine tune your jumping skills with bigger or more technical jumps and drops. Whether on trails or man made modules, you will learn how to break down the fundamentals to help you progress in your arial skills. You may want to start styling jumps and whipping, we got you. Pre-ride, ride, freeride! What is your challenge? We will help you achieve it!

    Lesson format : Small group clinics. Coaching ratios are optimised in order to give you a personalized service.     Progression sessions

    • Please refer to the skill level needed for the level of the session (beginner, intermediate, strong intermediate or advanced)
    • You desire a multi-week, continuous progression in your riding
    • You enjoy a group formula, feeding on the energy of others
    • You want to experience mountain biking with a group of like minded riders
    • You have a willingness to progress yourself in a safe environment
    • You have good physical fitness

    Progress your long term skills

    These progression clinics allow you to start or continue your season with safety and confidence. A progression of technical skills will be taught, allowing you to reach another level of trail riding. Moreover, you will learn in a motivating and inspiring environment, with other riders of your level.

    Lesson format : Groups of six participants of the same level are formed to meet the specific needs of each person. A specific theme will determine the sessions in order to cover a maximum of skills while respecting the group’s progression.

    Coach: Your coach will be certified level I or II pmbia.org and will have 20h or 40h of remote area first aid training.

    Terrain: Varies according to the level of the participants.
