3 days of riding and teaching from the best youth development coaches!

A revisited "day camp" formula, targeted at young people who want to progress at a faster pace. A unique development program! Bikeskills offers a niche product for the development of the next generation of shredders.

Young riders aged 9 to 15 years old will have the opportunity to spend three riding days with our youth expert coaches. They will learn and they will progress, you have our guarantee!

Our youth development program takes place mid-week, from 9 AM to 2 PM. A different format that is highly appreciated by both parents and kids!

  • You are a young cyclist, between 9 and 15 years old, passionate about mountain biking and ride regularly?
  • You are motivated and ready to learn from coaches to become even better?
  • You want to improve your technical skills to ride with more confidence and flow?
  • You have a positive attitude and work well with other young riders?
  • You are ready to follow our coaches’ safety protocols to ride safely?

If you answered YES to all these questions? This clinic is for you. If you’re unsure and have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
This day camp is primarily a skills development program designed to help your child reach the next level. Our goal is to provide a safe environment where they can progress at their own pace. We understand that kids love to test their limits and have fun, but we’re here to teach them the right techniques and guide them through their progression, so they can improve more quickly and safely.

Lesson format : Groups of six participants of the same level are formed to meet the specific needs of each rider. A specific theme will determine the sessions in order to cover a maximum of skills while respecting the group’s progression.

Coach: Your coach will be certified level I or II pmbia.org and will have 20h or 40h of remote area first aid training.

Terrain: The type of terrain ridden will greatly vary according to the group’s skill and fitness level. We will insure that you ride a great variety of trails and types of terrain to maximise learning and accelerating skill development.

    • To protect yourself from minor scrapes and injuries, Bikeskills recommends that you ALWAYS wear knee protection. Gloves, eyewear / goggles and elbow protection are also recommended, but not mandatory. Of course, a helmet is always essential, ideally a mountain bike specific helmet. Lightweight full-face helmets provide additional protection.  A full-face helmet and chest protector for advanced and/or lift accessed courses is also highly recommended.

As the class will be held outdoors, we might not have access to indoor facilities. It is recommended that you check the mountain weather forecast and plan accordingly, as mountain weather can change rapidly. Think about layering clothing to adapt to conditions, a lightweight jacket is always a good option to have.  It is recommended that each member of the group bring snacks and water to ensure they have enough energy to enjoy the class.

As we want to prepare you for a great experience, here are some notes on risk management in mountain biking.

    • Communicate your apprehensions, previous injuries and physical limitations to your coach.
    • Do not exceed your physical and technical limits.
    • All difficulties and modules such as drops and jumps are optional at all times. If needed, we can always reduce the physical and technical demands of the lesson.
    • Depending on the objective and level of the course, challenges will be progressively incorporated, from simple terrain to more complex features.
    • Before embarking on a technical section, participants must demonstrate a minimum level of mastery on flat terrain or on trails of lesser technical difficulty.
    • As with any group activity, your coach will adapt the lesson to cater to all participants. We strive to have similar level participants in our group lessons, but the reality is that it is not always possible as describing a skill level is always subjective. We can always provide additional challenges to advanced riders in simpler terrain while insuring a safe riding experience for lesser skilled riders.  Our coaches are experts at this balancing act.
    • For a technical challenge, we stop, analyze, walk the section and then engage… or not!
